Guided Tours
The Information Centre in Cambridge offers guided walking tours by experts, for a fee.

There is an open-top bus which does a tour of the city including the American Cemetery, which can be picked up at the city centre or the railway station.

Punting
It is possible to hire a punt and a so-called chauffeur who with a long pole provides the propulsion and commentary for the trip on the River Cam past the Colleges.

Safety
In a punt the passengers loll in complete safety and in comparative luxury but the act of poling a punt is a skill commonly possessed by the students but for novices takes a little time to master.

In the summer the city teems with visitors, and likewise the river teems with punts veering uncontrollably from side to side, a source of mirth to participants and onlookers alike. Experienced polers thread through the gaps, but collisions do occur, and it is only too easy to fall off a punt whilst wielding the pole.

By all means "have a go" but
a poler must be able to swim
and a change of clothes back in the car is advisable!
